Elaine's art ability was nurtured by her mother who was a watercolor and pencil artist.  She has received awards in oil painting and in China painting but in 2008 Elaine gave up painting due to rheumatoid arthritis crippling her hands.  While browsing the internet in 2018, she saw an artist using the fluid acrylic techniques and realized she could do the same and learned fluid acrylic painting from watching YouTube videos.
