April Classes at Coyote Creek

Raku Workshop May 19 – June 21
There is no experience necessary for this work shop. We will
teach you the mechanics of hand-building with clay, how to glaze
and the firing techniques to (hopefully) achieve the desired
look. We will have open studio times for clay building on May
19, 21st, 28th and June 4th. You are not required to come each
time, but are welcome as many times as you wish to complete the
construction of your piece(s). After the bisque fire we will
have glazing sessions in the studio on June 9, 11, 16, and 18th.
The final fire happens on Saturday the 21st during the Bar B que
Cook Off. Attendance at the firing of your pieces is required or
they will not get fired. This is a pot-luck firing party and the
most interesting part of the work shop. Cost per piece is $8 and
$5 for Coyote Creek members. This includes clay, glaze, bisque
fire and raku firing. Call South Park Pottery to sign up at
719-836-2698. If you can’t participate but are interested in
watching the firing on the 21st, you are welcome to join us. |

Alcohol Ink Class
Thurs. June 6th 5 or 6pm to 8pm
Lisa has gotten such an overwhelming response to her ink classes
that she will be holding this class the first Thursday of each
month. This next class is titles “Bring Your Own Thang” class.
As long as it is a nonporous surface, we’ll figure out a way to
ink it. If you don’t have any thang to work on, tiles will be
available again. Cost of this class is $30 with all inks and
tools available for your use. Lisa is also available for private
ink parties either in your home or at the gallery’s studio.
Please call Lisa for more info on her parties or to sign up for
her class by calling 719-839-0197. |
