Fred R. Boyce Mediums: Oil Painting & more |

| I was born
in the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming and grew up hunting, fishing and
camping in the surrounding area. I started oil painting at the young age
of twelve. I was influenced by my great Uncle Laurence Corbett, who was
a Western oil painter that had painted with some of the best. During High School I studied under a master painter Eveann Wiesse, who studied in Europe under some of the old masters. After graduation I went to college on an art scholarship and studied under Australian artist John Rawlings, artist James Bama and John Banks. I also studied at the Art Institute in San Miguel, Mexico under the tutelage of James Pinto. Upon returning to the United States I took a job as a Gallery Director for a national art gallery chain, educating and selling art to the general public across the Country. During my life I have worked with many mediums including pottery, jewelry, graphic design, interior design, watercolor, acrylics, sculpture and oils. After studying with many great artists I have developed my own style of painting. I especially enjoy oil painting and nature and the Rocky Mountains seem to be my favorite theme. I have lived in Colorado since 1985, have raised my two children and am currently the Mayor of Fairplay, CO. Then and still |
